Artizlab Classic 35mm f/1.4 Silver Edition – A Desire Rekindled
Share
When I first used the black version of the Artizlab Classic 35mm f/1.4, I quickly fell in love. The build quality was superb—solid metal, perfectly weighted, and a delight to operate. The images it produced had a distinct charm, rich in character and warmth.
Now, with the Silver Edition in my hands, it feels like a completely different lens. Wide open at f/1.4, the center sharpness is noticeably better than the black version. Stop it down to f/2, and it matches the black version’s performance at f/2.8.
This lens now combines both optical quality and signature character. At f/1.4, the center is sharp, the transitions are gentle, and the bokeh is simply mesmerizing—starting with a circular shape in the center, gradually morphing into irregular “cobblestone” forms, and finally into raindrop-shaped highlights at the edges, each with a beautiful outlined edge.
The Artizlab Classic 35mm f/1.4 Silver is not just a cosmetic update—it’s a refined performer that maintains its unique artistry while delivering better image quality. For those who want both technical performance and timeless rendering, this silver gem is hard to resist.
